Beaver County Voices of Independence

Celebrating the voices, stories, and contributions of individuals with disabilities throughout Beaver County.

What does independence mean to you?

For the individuals featured in Beaver County Voices of Independence, it means having choices, pursuing meaningful work, building relationships, giving back, discovering new possibilities, and being an active and valued part of the community.

This multimedia America250 project shares personal stories of Beaver County residents through video, photography, artwork, and reflections, creating a lasting portrait of independence, inclusion, and community in Beaver County.

Bringing those stories to life was a collaborative creative effort. From conducting and capturing the interviews, developing and producing the video stories, creating original artwork, designing the visual elements, and building the traveling exhibition, BCRC participants and community partners, Pacer Studio, Neighborhood North Museum of Play and Jacob White, contributed their time, talent, creativity, and dedication behind the scenes.

Together, these efforts created more than an exhibit—they created a lasting celebration of the people who make Beaver County stronger and a meaningful record of their experiences, accomplishments, and contributions.

Every person has a story. Every voice deserves to be heard. And everyone has a place in our community.

We invite you to listen, learn, and experience the stories behind the voices.
Discover the people, stories, creativity, and collaboration that show us what independence, inclusion, and belonging can look like.
